As part of the Business Intelligence and Operations Support (BIOS) team, this role will provide valuable analysis and technical support to various groups, including Customer Success, Customer Experience, and Customer Operations & Assistance. The overarching goal is to foster effective program and solution delivery that addresses the diverse needs of the customers we serve. Our team is committed to using analytical precision to create effective, customer-focused solutions, employing tools such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), regression analysis, and other statistical techniques. We are dedicated to evolving the CCS data and analytical ecosystems to meet the diverse needs of the business. By prioritizing robust data management and advanced dashboarding, we enhance our capability to report on and monitor key metrics. Provides analytical support to assigned business units and associated systems, applications, and activities by applying business and information technology solutions to a broad range of business unit processes and applications; functions as a specialist in one or more areas such as systems analysis, application development, or application support; acts as a local system administrator; performs table configuration and maintenance of software systems used to support business applications pertinent to the business unit. Nature and Scope
This series describes classes assigned to Departmental Business Units. The primary focus of these classes is to support business unit systems, applications, and activities where depth of knowledge of business unit functions and processes are critical to job success. Business Technology Analysts function as IT business specialists where breadth of experience and knowledge in one or more areas of lT work such as systems analysis, application development, or application support are used in the development, management and maintenance of business unit systems and applications. This is the advanced journey or lead level of the series requiring knowledge of more complex business systems involving advanced technical features; serves as business unit subject matter expert and lead on major projects reviewing completed work for compliance to unit, department, or SMUD standards. May serve as the business unit project manager on major business unit projects. Duties and Responsibilities

Five or more (5+) years of experience developing and supporting major information or business technology systems related to the business unit being supported. Knowledge Of
Principles and practices of lead supervision; principles and techniques of project management principles; advanced principles and concepts of data management; specialized business unit work processes and fundamentals; complex concepts of IT system applications, including desktop, client-server and mainframe environments; centralized and distributed concepts; complex analytical methods and research techniques; methods and techniques of troubleshooting and problem resolution; principles of project planning and scheduling; complex system development life cycles; advanced business system design methods and techniques; advanced methods and techniques of application development and integration; advanced database design theory and implementation; principles of data retrieval and reporting; information processing hardware, software, and data communications; pertinent SMUD and departmental policies, procedures, and standards; office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Direct staff in a lead capacity; oversee complex IT system environments; prepare budget estimates and resource allocations; write functional design specifications, policy and reports documentation; conduct feasibility studies; provide effective consultation to users/clients; apply analytical thinking to resolve business and IT application problems; develop, test, and implement IT applications; learn new and existing IT technologies, tools and methods to support and develop business applications; translate technical terminology into non-technical terms; work independently or in a team atmosphere to develop and support IT business applications; manage and organize workload on several projects simultaneously; prepare reports and make presentations; communicate effectively orally and in writing internally/externally; establish and maintain effective working relationships internally/externally.
