Job Summary

The M&A Hardware Integrations Engineer is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the setup and delivery of hardware for the integration of new systems into Compass NA. They are charged with surveying, ordering, receiving, configuring, and delivering hardware to support the IT computing needs of Compass users.

The M&A Hardware Integrations Engineer works as a member of the M&A Integrations Project Team and is charged to understand the goals/objectives of that team and how it supports those of the EA&SST division.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide analysis and assist project management to match computing needs to approved hardware options for tablets, workstations, and servers.
  • Distribute and maintain project survey / database for hardware ordering process.
  • Assist in software application mapping and software contract adoption.
  • Coordinate vendor bulk orders and maintain project inventories.
  • Maintain hardware/software lifecycle processes, procedures, and documentation.
  • Order, receive, setup, and ship hardware for project deployment.
  • Coordinate and track vendor orders.
  • Provide Project Management updates on all related orders.
  • Track hardware in alignment with established asset management processes.
  • Receive and decommission end of use/life equipment in alignment with established ITAD processes and standards.
  • Liaise with Server, Managed Print, and Device Management teams.
  • Coordinate and facilitate shipping activities for equipment in alignment with established processes.
  • Serve as a resource for hardware and software order escalations.
  • Provide Tier 2 support for workstation hardware & software vendor issues.
  • Coordinate with the User Support Services team to identify common issues and develop appropriate documentation, training, and automation.
  • Develop "as is" and "to be" reporting to represent challenges, risks, and opportunities for improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with hardware, software, and peripheral devices in an enterprise environment
  • Experience with device lifecycle management, disposal, and legal retention
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience with vendor relationship management
  • Experience Asset management systems & processes
  • Experience with order placement systems
  • Experience with EDM products (eg. Intune, Ghost, Altiris, SCCM, etc.)
  • Experience troubleshooting software / hardware issues
  • Proficiency with root cause analysis
  • Experience with the following:
    • Workstation OS (Windows 10,8,7, MacOS)
    • Microsoft Office 365
    • Adobe Software
    • SQL / Database queries
    • Survey applications
