PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Enrollment Strategies and Operations is responsible for overseeing the admission operating system, creating and maintaining all admission data reports, assisting with data-driven decisions, and developing short- and long-term enrollment projections.This position will report to the Vice President for Enrollment but will also work closely with the Assistant Vice President, Financial Aid and Governance, and the Director of Admission on strategic admission and financial aid initiatives.This position will also work closely with Information Technology Services, the Registrar's Office, and the Office of Institutional Research.Applications will be reviewed after Monday, April 14, 2025.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage and develop the admission CRM, Technolutions Slate. This includes oversight of the inquiry base, communications stream, application processing, and data reporting.
  • Manage the maintenance and optimization of Slate.This includes ensuring the system operates efficiently, troubleshooting issues, and implementing timely solutions to maximize the overall functionality of the system.
  • Efficiently manage and implement key functions of Slate, including but not limited to system architecture and administration, decision release, leveraging independent subqueries, configurable joins and development of practical workflows.
  • Create, edit, and maintain reports that support data-driven decisions.
  • Provide data analysis to the Vice President for Enrollment on strategic admission initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Vice President for Enrollment, the Registrar, and the Office on Business Affairs on short and long-term enrollment trends and projections.
  • Manage special projects assigned by the Vice President for Enrollment and work to develop new and creative technology solutions to enhance student recruitment, application review, and yield.
  • Coordinate with Claremont College colleagues as the admission lead in the implementation of Anthology Student (SIS). Responsible for creating, testing, implementing, and maintaining new SIS.
  • Collaborate closely with consultants who assist with enrollment goals.
  • Develop and oversee technology training for the department staff.
  • Manage the admission support staff and the Senior Assistant Director of Admission.
  • Oversee the Enrollment Sub-Committee.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Individuals must possess knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Experience managing complex admission CRM, preferably Technolutions Slate, with a strong understanding of configurable joins.
  • Experience with statistical software, such as Tableau, SPSS, Stata, Power BI, or R.
  • Familiarity with relational databases.
  • Knowledge of student information systems, such as Anthology.
  • Strong understanding of the admission cycle.
  • Ability to work independently, and as a team.
  • Strong technical, operation, process and management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to set priorities and maintain deadlines.
  • Ability to work across departments and divisions.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, SQL, Microsoft and Adobe Suites.
  • Some travel may be required.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degreein a relevant field or any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and ability to perform the job.

At least 7 years of admission experience and demonstrated supervisory experience.

HOURS & CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS:

This is a regular status, full-time, 12-month, exempt, benefits-eligible position.

The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Hours may vary and include night and weekends based on needs of the College or

Department. Travel may be required.

Salary rate range: $100,000-$110,000 (annualized). The salary rate of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, andtraining.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Supervises the Senior Assistant Director of Admission & Slate Coordination, Operations Assistant, and Administrative Assistant.
