- Develop and research ideas which will produce future revenue streams, client solutions, or services. Areas of focus include:
- New and emerging problems or technologies, gaps in insurance needs, gaps in the customer experience or technologies related to projects being managed
- Macro and societal issues that could impact P&C insurance industry
- Detailed evaluation of business environment including customer needs, capabilities/assets, and competitive realities for ideas under evaluation
- Lead the AI-based exploration activities with an objective to identify relevant use-cases that help improve efficiency and quality in the organization
- Engaging in the development of rough prototypes for approved concepts; managing virtual teams engaged in the same development activities
- Facilitating various viability testing, prelaunch market research on approved ideas; supporting virtual teams that may be engaged in these same activities
- Understand and assess business issues, problems, risks, and challenges by working with the business units and external partners
- Demonstrate the ability and desire to continue learning new and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate, compare and execute engagements with potential partners, including startups and established vendors; collaborate with functional groups and stakeholders in this process
- Collaborate with other Munich Re innovation entities to develop and validate business relevant ideas.
- Drive all aspects of the idea generation campaigns from planning to execution
- Contribute to the overall project management of assigned topics from ideation through operationalizing, including business case development, change management and implementation planning
- Deliver targeted business goals and objectives for assigned projects
- Coach and mentor associates and functional groups within the organization by conducting Design Thinking-based workshops, innovation campaigns, ideation, and iterative execution; Be a catalyst for driving an innovation mindset.
- Occasional travel (about 20%) for collaboration activities and conferences/training.
Required Technical Skills:
- Must be comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty
- Must have an optimistic can do attitude and approach to pursuing new ideas
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience and exposure to AI tools like ChatGPT, Large Language Models, and APIs
- Strong command of Excel and other computer and MS Office Suite applications
- Exhibited application of design thinking concepts
- Strong ability to think innovatively and strategically
- Strong ability to research strategic topics
- Ability to identify trends, pursue them independently, and develop initial business cases.
