Manager National Physical Security Operations

The Manager National Physical Security Operations will oversee Corporate Security Compliance including FDIC Bank Protection compliance, audit standards, and oversight of the nationwide security access control system. The incumbent will also be responsible for the National Security Training programs for the enterprise including Banking Center Robbery Awareness Training and personal safety awareness training

The Manager National Physical Security Operations will also lead Corporate Security strategic initiatives to improve the efficiency of the Corporate Security Department, manage contracts with CMA's national service provider and have oversight of bank robbery response and mitigation.

The incumbent will manage teams (Including contingent workers) in multiple geographic locations in Texas, Michigan, and California.

Position Responsibilities:

Corporate Security Compliance



  • FDIC Bank Protection Compliance: Monitor and ensure physical security policies, procedures, and technology follow the 1968 Bank Protection Act.
  • Management of Corporate Security compliance related issues in all markets, which involves the standardization of all security policies and procedures.
  • Management of department audit process to ensure compliance of audit standards in all markets.
  • Oversee all life safety responsibilities for all markets and participate in Business Continuity Planning Committee Meetings and annual exercises.
  • Management of the nationwide security access control system.


National Security Training Programs Oversight



  • Manage all security training programs.
  • Banking Center Robbery Awareness Training: Including annual site visits to each location.
  • New hire compliance training and personal safety awareness training (Crime prevention).
  • Manage the development of workshops and training exercises to ensure compliance with OSHA standards, Regulation H, and related laws and professional standards and assess effectiveness of programs.


Technology Implementation and Project Management



  • Work with Security Market and Project Managers to ensure implementation of new security technology is in accordance with the Bank Protection Act and Comerica Security Risk Rating Model.


Strategic Planning and Security Consulting



  • Lead Corporate Security strategic initiatives to improve the efficiency of the Corporate Security Department.
  • Develop all managers to appropriately assess risk and ensure security of all employees, customers, and assets.
  • Analyze physical security problems, issues, and projects to provide expertise in problem solving management and recommendations to all business units and areas of the bank.


Vendor Management



  • Manage contracts with national service provider and Security Officers for Building Security and Roaming Patrols for Banking Centers.
  • Ensure service provider compliance with objectives and Risk Prevention Guidelines.


Bank Robbery Response and Mitigation



  • Ensure response, reporting, and statistical information guidelines are following policies and procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate security devices are in place to assist employee's safety and reduce risk.
  • Communicate to Comerica Senior Management gaps on robbery mitigation devices, policies, and procedures and to recommend enhancements to such to increase employee safety and reduce risk.



Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Criminal Justice or similar field OR High School/GED with 6 years progressive relevant Corporate Security experience
  • 6 years of experience in Security Management
  • 6 years of experience communicating cross functionally with exceptional communication skills
  • 6 years of experience in Financial Management including invoicing, and budgeting
  • 5 years of experience managing or influencing others to achieve desired results; direct team management preferred
  • 5 years of experience leading Corporate Security initiatives
  • 2 years of experience in banking or other regulated industry (preferred)


Licenses/Certifications:


  • First Aid, CPR, AED Certification

Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
