Job Details

Under general supervision of the Indirect Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager, responsible for assisting in managing a category of products as well as the business relationship between Cencora and the respective product suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Works in concert with other Category & Sourcing Managers to serve as the liaison with pharmaceutical manufacturers as it relates to policies, issues and profitability.

  • Assists in the negotiation of contracts, establishes sourcing relationships and manages customer-related programs in designated category; works towards resolving work issues relative to the trading relationship.

  • Collaborates with internal departments such as Sales & Marketing, Finance, Legal and other Procurement entities in order to promote the best interests of Cencora.

  • Assists in managing the trade affairs with key strategic manufacturers to include negotiating business agreements and settling disputes and/or issues.

  • Represents and positions Cencora favorably with manufacturers and acts as an advocate for Cencora interests relative to manufacturers' actions and policies.

  • Generates profit enhancing opportunities such as deals, rebates, allowances and promotional activities for the assigned manufacturers.

  • Assists in managing several contracting programs resulting in increased value for both Cencora and its customers.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, supply chain, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of two (2) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Outstanding knowledge of product and supplier base, product relationships and industry trends

  • Working knowledge of sales, purchasing, supply chain management and/or inventory management principles and methodologies

  • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to work collaboratively across the organization and manage multiple projects of various diverse scope in a cross-functional environment

  • Ability to deal with confrontational issues in a positive manner

  • Strong communication

  • Strong negotiating skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail

  • Strong computer skills in order to operate effectively with company systems and programs; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
