Position Title: Group Practice Director (GPD) Job Summary: The Group Practice Director (GPD), reporting to the Regional Director of Service Line Primary Care Administration, is responsible for overseeing the operational management of four primary care sites: Novi - Columbus Center, Commerce, Bloomfield, and Farmington Road. This role involves executing business plans, programs, and initiatives to drive operational efficiency, enhance patient satisfaction, and improve clinical outcomes. The GPD will manage day-to-day operations, including staffing, budgeting, financial performance, quality metrics, and clinical improvements, while ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals. Additionally, the GPD will supervise two nurse managers, each overseeing two operational clinics, and will work to ensure smooth, effective operations across all locations. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Program/Business/Operations Development, Implementation, and Growth:
- Develops and implements business plans, capital planning, and resource allocation to ensure optimal operational and financial performance across all sites.
- Monitors market trends and local healthcare dynamics to drive improvement initiatives, leading from ideation to execution.
- Manages daily operations across multiple sites, including patient care flow, business office functions, staffing, and resource management.
- Utilizes tools like EPIC and dashboards to track and enhance operational performance, identifying areas for improvement.
Finance:
- Works with leadership to manage financial performance across multiple sites, overseeing budget development, cost control, and resource allocation.
- Evaluates financial outcomes related to clinical care, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency to ensure financial targets are met.
Staff Engagement:
- In collaboration with leadership, fosters a culture of engagement and professional development for all staff, including support staff, nurse managers, and physicians.
- Implements strategies and processes to improve staff satisfaction and retention, leveraging performance metrics to drive positive outcomes.
Patient Care Experience:
- Ensures the highest level of patient care and experience by optimizing the utilization of people, processes, and technology.
- Focuses on continuous process improvements to enhance the patient journey, from initial contact through to the completion of service.
- Works closely with medical and administrative teams to align operational practices with patient care objectives and satisfaction goals.
Citizenship:
- Actively participates in system-wide initiatives and projects to contribute to the broader organizational goals.
- Represents the business unit in internal, external, and local community committees, promoting a positive organizational image.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Care Administration, or related field is required. A Master's Degree in Business or Health Care Administration is preferred.
- Three to five (3-5) years of progressive administrative experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience in managing multiple primary care sites, with knowledge of ambulatory operations, quality metrics, and patient engagement.
- Experience with EPIC and dashboards is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to develop and interpret complex data.
- Ability to develop effective relationships with medical, administrative, and support staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present reports to various committees and groups.
- Skilled in strategic and short-term planning, organizational development, and managing operational resources.
