Position Highlights:

  • Position: Clinical Nurse Instructor

  • Hourly Pay Range: $40.45 - 62.70 The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

  • Location: Floats between Edward Hospital in Naperville & Elmhurst Hospital

  • Per Diem

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, Days/Evenings

What you will do:

The clinical instructor is responsible for nursing team development and continuing nursing education. The clinical instructor provides education developed by the RN Clinical Nurse Practice Specialist or Clinical Nurse Educator. Education provided may include orientation programs for new nursing team members, ongoing staff education programs, simulation learning and continuing education for members of the nursing team. The Clinical instructor elevates the standard of professional nursing practice across the system by coaching and mentoring nursing staff.

  • Partners with the RN Clinical Nurse Practice Specialist and/or Clinical Nurse Educator on the facilitation of onboarding and orientation programs for new nursing team members

  • Partners with the RN Clinical Nurse Practice Specialist and/or Clinical Nurse Educator on the facilitation of system continuing education programs and presentations, such as professional role development, practical skills in clinical and/or simulation setting utilizing evidence-based practice and adult learning theory.

  • Provides nursing education in a variety of venues and/or methods.

  • Mentors and coaches department based nurse educators to be able to advance in nursing education.

  • Fosters a healthy work environment and builds effective teams via coaching and utilizing advanced communication skills.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing required or Diploma Degree in Nursing and Bachelor's Degree in Health Related Field

  • Master's Degree in nursing is desirable

  • Eligible to work in the United States

  • Current Professional Nursing Licensure in the State of Illinois

  • Current nursing specialty certification; if no specialty nursing certification, certification required within one year of assuming role.

  • Current Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and/or Neonatal Resuscitation as applicable to role

  • At least five years of clinical experience in a medical center, hospital environment or academic setting.
