Emergency Room Technical Assistant - Cottage ER- 40 Hours - Days

Hours: 7a-5:30p

Schedule: 4 days per week,

Weekends: Rotation of Every Other Weekend

Holidays: Half of the holidays (3 out of 6)

The HF Medical Center- Grosse Pointe Cottage Emergency Department is a 14-bed free-standing facility. Our staff has a close working relationship. The physicians, nurses, and technicians are centrally located for ease of collaboration and communication, which leads to a positive work environment.

Among other duties, our EDTs here can expect to do stocking the department, blood draws, EKGs, vital signs/assisting with triage, bladder scanning, assisting the ED providers with procedures including but not limited to pelvic exams, suturing and assisting in codes. Often our EDTs will be required to sit and monitor our behavioral health patients 1:1. We see many elderly patients, which contributes to us seeing a large number of fall patients. Splinting is common, as is basic wound care. Both nurses and EDTs work together with housekeeping to keep treatment rooms and our department clean.

While a small ED, we are fast paced and work well together. We are looking for candidates to join our team.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Assist with patient care based on individual needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of a registered nurse or Provider.
