Proposed Summary:
In this role, you will blend executive facilitation skills, leadership, strategic vision, and technical proficiency. This Technical Program Manager role will lead and support the overall operations of the Product Operating Model (POM) process, acting as POM Portfolio Manager subject matter expert (SME) and facilitator. The role requires strong program management skills and a solid understanding of how program management pairs with agile methodologies. You will be responsible for facilitating senior leadership meetings and disseminating decisions to key stakeholders. In addition, this role emphasizes interacting with product managers, driving process excellence, and leading strategic initiatives that enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness. The Technical Program Manager also provides direct program and project management to include oversight for both Agile and Waterfall product development/engineering projects. This role will be responsible to manage administrative tasks such as capital accounting and reporting; administration of program/project management tools while building and maintaining custom status reporting across multiple large-scale program/project deliverables and timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all POM stakeholder needs are understood, documented, and vetted. Ensure all problem statements are aligned with the Product Strategy 'North Star', prioritized, and ready for Council or other approval.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in articulating the Product Operating Model processes with supporting material.
  • Actively collect and analyze data from internal POM data points; partner with Product Management leaders to maintain a KPI Dashboard and ensure regular reviews to drive improvements.
  • Work closely with the Product Operating Model Operations team and POM Change committees to implement continuous process improvements. Collaborate with experts to optimize reporting and configuration. Educate the organization on the POM process and its role in achieving the multi-year vision.
  • Plans and coordinates at least three or more large technology projects with multiple teams involved.
  • Coordinates work performed by technical staff and internal business stakeholders.
  • Creates weekly and monthly project status reports and documentation.
  • Resolves project issues, mitigates risks, and manages scope change requests for all technical development and engineering processes and frameworks
  • Drives project deliverables and decisions to completion.
  • Enables close cooperation across all roles and functions
  • Removes barriers while shielding project teams from external interferences

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, Graduate degree preferred
  • 7 or more years of experience in project/program management
  • Agile and Waterfall project management experience is preferred
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
  • Exceptional project management skills, mediation, and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with employees and customers of all levels.

    Estimated Hiring Range:

    At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $206,000.00.

    This position is also incentive eligible.
