Job Description
Forensic Clinician
Elwyn Adult Behavioral Health Services (formerly Fellowship Health Resources) fosters hope and recovery. Elwyn Adult Behavioral Health Services is seeking a licensed Forensic Clinician to join our team in Wake County jails. We offer a rewarding opportunity to deliver critical mental health services to incarcerated individuals facing mental illness and/or substance abuse. You'll be an expert witness in detention settings and court, while also extending treatment to clients re-entering the community. We value collaboration, and you'll work alongside a supportive team to ensure the highest quality care.
$70000 - $80000 / year and comprehensive benefits Eligible for $5000 sign on bonus Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 pm, one weekend per month, some holiday coverage The Role:
- Client-Centered Care: Conduct assessments, develop personalized plans, provide therapeutic support (individual & group), manage crises, and educate clients and families on mental health and addiction. Utilize a person-centered, recovery-based, and trauma-informed approach. Ensure client safety and comply with regulations.
- Clinical Expertise: Make sound observations and interventions, integrate the Prism Model, and train staff/clients on recovery tools & techniques.
- Communication & Collaboration: Effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and external resources.
- Leadership & Development: Provide clinical supervision, leadership, and training on mental health recovery and related topics. Coach staff and foster a positive team environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed client records following Elwyn, CARF, and state/county guidelines. Complete program reports and statistics.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in clinical psychology, Educational Counseling, Rehabilitative Counseling, Social Work, or closely related discipline.
- A minimum of two years' experience providing counseling services in a Behavioral Health setting.
- Possess a provisional or independent license such as LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LCAS, LICSW, LCP, LMHC, or LCPP. Experience with Addiction and offender population treatment preferred.
- Knowledge of Diagnostic & Statistical Manual (DSM) of Mental Disorders and its clinical application; knowledge and practice evidence based clinical interventions (i.e., Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and DBT).
- Experience in various clinical environments including but not limited to outpatient clinics, community, hospitals, and detention centers. Skills and ability to assess, counsel, case-manage, and refer to various stake holders in the community. Skills and ability to be trained to further assess for capacity to proceed and mental health evaluations for legal proceedings.
- Proficient with Microsoft suites, excellent oral and written communication, ability to work in a team environment under stressful situations and maintain efficient time management and problem-solving skills.
- Current, valid driver's license and at least two years of driving experience.
