Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
Location: Manitowoc, WI
Pay: Starting at $26/hour, based on experience and qualifications

Position Overview: As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a crucial role in administering HR activities across all major functions, with a focus on recruitment, employee relations, benefits, and safety. Your expertise in HR practices and corporate policies will be essential in handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion and tact.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment:



  • Conduct recruitment efforts for all plant hourly and temporary employees.
  • Coordinate on-boarding of new hires, including pre-employment screenings.
  • Conduct new hire orientation, benefit, and safety training, and maintain records.
  • Maintain contact with staffing agencies and facilitate the onboarding process.
  • Ensure compliance with hiring practices and maintain recruitment records.


Administration and Coordination:



  • Coordinate and document all paperwork for new and departing employees.
  • Track attendance and manage corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain various HR reports.


Benefits Administration:



  • Administer and manage leave of absences (LOA), including FMLA, STD, and LTD.
  • Educate employees on company benefits and assist with open enrollment.


Safety:



  • Schedule safety training and maintain safety training records.
  • Prepare safety committee meeting information and back-up Safety Manager in leading meetings.


Employee Relations:



  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Assist managers with performance management and disciplinary actions.
  • Assist in investigations for harassment, discrimination, and other claims.
  • Coach and counsel employees as needed.


Project Work/Miscellaneous:



  • Complete project work as assigned.
  • Maintain HR work instructions.
  • Serve as backup for payroll and reception.
  • File records and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions related to the role.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 2-4 years of HR experience.
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR practices and employment laws.
  • Ability to learn Dayforce HCM software.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
