The Vice President of Business Development - Labor and Trust will play a vital role in Milliman Skysail's innovative and collaborative consultative Business Development team. In this position, you will develop client and prospect relationships that will result in sales opportunities and exponential growth. This role is instrumental in building our sales pipeline, by uncovering potential leads and developing qualified opportunities. This will include initiating contact with people at all levels within an organization, including C-suite executives. The right person for our team has a natural drive to perform at the highest level and exceed expectations. This individual will report to the Principal, Business Development.

Job Responsibilities



  • Develops relationships with multiple stakeholders throughout the pharmacy benefits ecosystem.
  • Following up with clients and prospects in a timely manner that ensures a high level of trust and long-term client engagement.
  • Handles the entire range of sales activities, including relationship building, initial meeting and demonstrations, presentations, completing Request for Proposals (RFPs), contracting and closing business.
  • Oversees preparation of Milliman's response to written Requests for Proposal received from prospects seeking our services. Reviews original and final draft, assuring that proposal reflects the agreed upon strategy, that all issues are addressed appropriately, pricing is correct, and that Milliman is appropriately represented.
  • Sets strategy and coordinates team for finals presentations and site visits. Makes sure all presentations reflect our strongest capabilities and are targeted to meet prospect needs and desires. Participates in presenting content in a clear and appealing manner.
  • Participates in company sales meetings, industry conferences, and other networking and marketing activities as assigned.
  • Provides information to Milliman with regard to industry trends, reasons for wins and losses, state of the competitive marketplace, product development needs, and client/prospect perceptions of Milliman.
  • Develops and maintains a solid understanding of all products and services offered. Follows Milliman protocol for tracking activity and results, including appropriate use of applicable CRM tools.


Minimum requirements



  • Master's or professional degree preferred, bachelor's degree is required.
  • Minimum of 10+ years experience in consultative sales with respect to the PBM industry.
  • Minimum of 10+ years experience working with and building relationships with payors, consultants, PBMs, and third-party intermediaries.
  • Experience with Taft-Hartley Trust and Trust Unions employer funds is required.

Salary: The salary range is $122,000 - $248,000, depending on relevant factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.

Location: This is a remote position.
