The Intake Coordinator II reports to the Department Supervisor this position will demonstrate an advanced level of proficiency with multiple payers' and complex

products offered within home-based services. Proficient knowledge of necessary data elements to satisfy compliance and regulatory requirements to enable billing and collection efforts. Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex clinical customer issues, daily. Act as a resource for multi disciplinary team members including RN; PT; RT; OT; enteral team and other members of the HME division. Real time education and training of staff in accordance to standard operating procedures. Collaborate with physician, payer, customer, referral, or other team members to ensure

patient referral needs are met in a timely and efficient manner. Ability to assess and navigate complex customer inquiries. Provide excellent service to customers during every interaction. Ability to successfully complete service recovery and de-escalation. Detail oriented and ability to function as a mentor; subject matter expert and preceptor. Demonstrate excellent service standards during every interaction. Other chief responsibilities include but not limited to: complete and accurate entry and review of patient file, verify eligibility of benefits, obtaining authorization and/or CMN, documentation review for complex clinical items and coordination. Ability to clearly communicate any issues with missing information with referral source and/or prescriber. Independently follow up and resolve issues. Act as a resource for multi disciplinary team members including RN; PT; RT; OT; enteral team and other members of the HME division.

Education:




  • High school diploma or GED
  • Post high school education or training - preferred
  • Industry relative experience, minimum 2 years
  • AA degree, preferred



Knowledge:




  • Intermediate/advanced experience - medical field; minimum of 1 year
  • Extensive knowledge of coding; review of medical policy & matching ICD-10 to HCPC.
  • Extensive knowledge of government, compliance, and payer requirements for HME equipment and supplies
  • Exceptional Customer service principals and service expectations
  • Positive Culture - teambuilding, employee engagement culture, maturity
  • Knowledge of billing and collections and how to integrate medical coding and reimbursement rules changes into workflow



Skills:




  • Accurate and timely data entry; Detail oriented and organized
  • Advanced communication skills - written and oral - clear/professional with customers
  • Advanced product knowledge of JHHCG products & services. Selection of homecare equipment/supply based on need and physician order
  • Ability to function as a resource/mentor to intake 1 position - subject matter expert- preceptor, training.
  • Call center experience, preferred
  • Ability to work independently for problem resolution - ability to be a cross functional subject matter expert in the absence of a leader
  • Intermediate ability to successfully deescalate and facilitate prioritized accounts



Work Experience:




  • 2 years customer service, required
  • Experience working in a medical environment - familiarity with durable medical equipment, required
  • Experience working in a call center, preferred
  • Experience with billing and collections, preferred

Salary Range: Minimum 15.00 per hour - Maximum 24.09 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
