Job Summary

The Humphrey School Conference Center seeks support staff to provide audio visual (AV) services for its events. They will assist Conference Center staff and clients (event planners) in all aspects of multimedia event production. Services provided include evaluation and advice regarding applicable media equipment (before events), execution of all audiovisual components (during events), and completion of post-production edits and corrections to video recordings (after events).

This position is part-time, intermittent.

Responsibilities

  • Participating in pre-event planning meetings and email/phone communications with clients to determine event parameters and AV/media needs;
  • Advising clients on equipment rental and run of-show-procedures;
  • Serving as primary point of contact and technical troubleshooter for AV concerns during events;
  • Setting up, operating, and tearing down a variety of AV equipment such as video cameras, microphones, mixers, audio recording devices, projectors, laptops, lights, etc.;
  • Connecting to and coordinating all aspects of virtual event conference tools such as Zoom, YouTube streaming, Facebook Live, and other virtual conference tools per client request (and as technology changes);
  • Video-recording events from control rooms and mixing booths, using both portable and fixed equipment;
  • Ensuring completion and distribution of post-production audio and video editing (normally next business day);
  • Performing various digital media conversions for a variety of formats and access options;
  • Documenting production and event details (e.g. equipment usage) on the Conference Center's booking platform, to ensure customers are accurately charged;
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Experience with live sound and video broadcast/professional live stream environments;
  • Ability to professionally set up and run AV production and equipment (mixers, microphones, projectors, laptops, etc.);
  • Proficient knowledge and competency with computers and software (Google Suite, Zoom, etc.);
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail;
  • Experience delivering excellent customer service;
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends;
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., sit, stand and move around for extended periods of time while operating audio-visual equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional video production and/or live sound experience;
  • Knowledge and experience working with industry standard digital video production programs; shooting and editing of videos and multimedia content.
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
