SET THE COURSE Responsible for supporting the Product Manager and apparel product development processes, line sheets and calendar. In conjunction with the PM, manages and ensures the cross functional product teams meet the required product development deadlines. Helps provide analysis and data to support the cross functional partners regarding the amount of styles/skus that are put into development are according to the Men's Line Plan ask. Supports the Product Manager as a liaison with cross functional partners on business related issues and with the scheduling of milestone meetings. BE THE ISLAND GUIDE
- Supports the PM in driving the processes within a cross functional team of merchandisers, Sourcing/PD, Materials, designers, fit techs, production and others to meet development deadlines.
- With support from the PM, manages the seasonal calendars. Creates agenda for weekly cross functional meetings & the time and action calendar for the business and ensures teams are aware and in compliance to required dates
- Set up and maintain tools (using FlexPLM & Excel) that help monitor continuous development ratios seasonally.
- Prior to milestone meetings & line sheet creation, facilitate and confirm integrity of product information and communicate with cross functional teams to ensure that it is timely & correct.
- Lead cross functional meetings, and time and action calendars to ensure teams are in compliance to required dates.
- Flag to PM any calendar, development and/or potential or actual deliverable misses.
- Close to milestone meetings, monitor development & sample timing with Sourcing & Design regarding how changes may or may not impact deadlines or presentation meetings. Report any issues and problem solve with Product Manager
- Manage Men's Product Launch Line Sheet in conjunction with Design, Sourcing, Freelance Graphic artist, and Creative Services.
- As needed, help support design team with product launch related key looks, pre-line launch photo shoot sample needs, and runway sample coordination.
- Serve as lead on special departmental projects as needed.
- Act as key contact for Samples Team for Brand launch data integrity and logistics
- Coordinate all photo shoot sample needs with photo studio & samples team regarding line sheet
- Monitor & facilitate cross functionally the various cross functional documents including Change requests, urgent photo sample needs etc.
- Administrative work including, but not limited to: schedule meetings, setting up Zoom meeting, note taking, steaming samples, an other tasks as needed.
- Flexible for ad-hoc assignments as needed to help support the overall business.
- Monitor, track and manage critical product development timelines
- Manages and updates the Seasonal Design Line Plan and/or after each cross functional milestone meeting.
- Clearly communicates to all cross functional partners and manages feedback from all channels - including acting as point person for style/sku adds & changes
- Acts as point person for follow up with channels, design & Sourcing/PD and production regarding all special styles
- Acts as primary liaison with merchants on business related issues i.e. color/assortment issues, post-presentation follow-up etc.
- Manages number of SMS Lines to be made with input from Wholesale Sales team
- Partners with cross-functional product development leaders to build off-cycle product as needed (i.e. for product partnerships and collaborations).
ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field
- 2+ years of work experience, preferably with merchandising, product management, product development, retail apparel, or other consumer products
- Strong knowledge and understanding of product development and production or retail/apparel experience preferred
- Strong data management and reporting skills
- Strong oral, written skills including the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, good judgement managing interactions with individuals at all levels in the organization
- High level of personal responsibility with strong sense of ownership, proactive nature, and high tolerance for ambiguity
- Proven experience building positive working relationships across cross functional teams
- Successful calendar monitoring and actualization
- Ability to work independently at a fast pace
- Strong decision making, time management and organization skills
- FlexPLM experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all the pieces fit together and affect one another.
- Ability to anticipate how a decision made can affect our partners, our products or other departments' operations and/or morale.
Multiple factors will vary the applicable rate of pay for this role, including an individual's experience, knowledge, and skillset, as well as work location and available budget.
