Summary/Objective:

This program will start on May 12, 2025 and will end on June 5, 2025.

This program will result in permament role with Lippert in Waxahachie, Texas for our second shift sub assembly welding.

Hours are 5:30 pm to 2:00 AM, Monday through Friday with mandatory overtime as needed.

The Weld Trainee is responsible for learning and developing welding skills applicable to aligning and fitting fabricated steel structures per blueprints with limited supervision.

Weld Program-Lippert University

  • Receive $6,500 in training
  • 32 hours of CAD print reading
  • 32 hours of OSHA and equipment safety
  • 80 hours of MIG welding
  • AWS MIG 1.1 Certification
  • US Department of Labor Apprenticeship
  • Program runs approximately 19 consecutive weekdays at Texas State Technical College
  • Students will be paid the training rate for each of 8 hour training days
  • Examinations will be conducted weekly to determine eligibility to stay in the program
  • Receive $2,500 in retention bonuses in the first 6 months

Candidates will be prescreened:

  • Excellent work history
  • Exemplary attendance record
  • Physical testing:
  • Repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing for long periods of time in one location
  • Repetitive bending, twisting & turning
  • Weld flash or smoke concerns?
  • Basic math and reading comprehension

Qualifications:

  1. Work Experience: No prior experience needed
  2. Education: High School Diploma
  3. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills necessary
  4. Organization Skills: Maintain clean and organized work space
  5. Cross-functional Skills: Ability to work and handle multiple job assignments
  6. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate within a team setting
  7. Physical, Mental and Visual Skills: Ability to lift, bend, and twist throughout the workday; will be required to lift between 50 to 75 pounds; familiar with welding symbols
  8. Physical Environment: Fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Requirements:

  1. Work Experience: Prior welding experience and/or manufacturing experience.

  1. Fast-paced manufacturing environment
  2. Repetitive use of hands to operate machines

Physical Demands:

Ability to read, write, type; sitting and standing for long periods of time up to 8 hours per day

Work Authorization/Security Clearance
