Purpose: The Senior Mechanical Engineer researches, develops, engineers, and designs a variety of equipment, components, products, and systems for offshore, upstream production facilities, petrochemical, and industrial purposes. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of principles, theories, concepts, industry practices, and standards, and their application. The engineer is responsible for performing calculations and designs within assignments, working under minimal supervision, with all work reviewed for adequacy upon completion. The role may provide technical guidance to less experienced design and engineering personnel. Responsibilities:
- Perform job responsibilities as Senior Engineer, leading discipline on small projects or under the direction of the Lead Mechanical Engineer and/or Project Engineer for larger projects.
- Perform short-duration travel to client's offshore platforms to review existing or new equipment and piping installations. Requires helicopter training (HUET), obtaining a TWIC per the federal Maritime Transportation Security Act, and compliance with client programs (preparation and vaccines).
- Direct Piping Design personnel assigned to the project team.
- Ensure adherence to client and/or company specifications, governing codes and standards, and good engineering practice.
- Ensure adherence to client and/or company health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) requirements as well as state and federal regulations.
- Coordinate and participate in the development of mechanical engineering effort-hour estimates for proposed projects.
- Monitor the schedule, ensure that project objectives are met, and monitor project controls and engineering execution within the approved budget.
- Report on engineering, design, and equipment development status to the Lead Mechanical Engineer and perform monthly or bi-weekly assessments of progress.
- Participate and contribute to the advanced level development of all phases of project engineering, including FEED, detail design, and construction support.
- Develop upstream production facility drawings, check process equipment system designs, and participate in hazard reviews performed to API standards.
- Develop the technical content of offshore production equipment calculations, specifications, and data sheets for inquiry and purchase. Ensure these documents are appropriately reviewed, approved, and transmitted.
- Communicate directly with equipment manufacturers and work clarifications to resolution.
- Coordinate and incorporate client requirements and standards.
- Develop Mechanical Work Plans for the fabrication, construction, and offshore installation scopes of projects.
- Initiate Project Deviation Notices (PDNs) that impact the mechanical specifications, effort-hour budget, and/or schedule.
- Coordinate and cooperate with engineers of other disciplines to ensure the smooth flow of all information and alignment with project requirements and design basis.
- Coordinate with Worley Global Integrated Delivery (GID) counterparts to complete deliverables.
- Participate in status meetings with the mechanical team to discuss project issues, coordinate/plan key milestone efforts, etc.
- Obtain cost-related information and develop scope of work documents for project estimates (e.g., TIC estimates).
- Knowledge of ASME Pressure Vessel Code, API Tank Code, Heat Transfer Codes, or Pump API codes, and capable of performing relevant calculations.
- Knowledge of CAESAR II and capable of performing relevant calculations.

What you will bring Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
- 8+ years of overall experience on capital projects from feasibility through construction.
- 6+ years of applications engineering experience, and 4+ years in a lead role or related experience with engineering design of oil and gas production (upstream) facilities, piping systems, equipment specifications, and safety systems (API 14C).
- Familiarity with various project phases and the scope/deliverables required.
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, OneNote) preferred.
- Experience working in CAESAR II software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Ability to train and travel to onshore or offshore facilities preferred.
- 6-9 years of experience within engineering companies for oil and gas production (upstream) facilities.
- Experience with process piping systems and/or related specifications.
- Experience with performing and analyzing pipe stress.
Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Required:
- Recognized Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
Preferred:
- Registered or in process to obtain Professional Engineering license preferred.
