Responsibilities include reviewing, verifying and updating patient demographic and insurance information, resolving registration-related edits and acting as a liaison between clinics and patients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Access scheduled appointments through work queues to review and correct registration-related issues. Interact with patients in person, on phone and in email communication. Review, confirm and update demographic and insurance information with patients. Direct all patients seeking financial assistance to the Financial Coordinators. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all patient matters and secure all patient information. Assist internal customers in tasks necessary to ensure complete patient satisfaction and revenue assurance. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 1. High School diploma or GED completion required 2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 3. Ability to work independently. 4. Medical Terminology and Accounts Receivable background helpful. WORKING CONDITIONS: Employee will be present in a clinical and outpatient setting which has high patient volume. Employee must be able to work in a busy environment that may have multiple interactions amongst many people happening at once. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employee may be sitting for 7-8 hours a day at a desk. Position requires the employee to have hand-eye coordination, finger dexterity and typing. Employee must be able to view computer screens for long periods of time. Business casual dress is required. Physical Requirements
