Under the general direction of the Chief of Otolaryngology, the clinical audiologist provides comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative services for patients with hearing complaints, hearing impairments and balance disorders. Services are provided on a primarily outpatient basis and may also be provided by consultation in the inpatient settings. Assists Otolaryngology leadership with the clinical operations, research and education functions of the department.
Principle Responsibilities
Requires a doctorate degree in Audiology from an accredited program. - Graduates before 2008 may be considered with Master's Degree in Audiology from an approved program with at least 1 full-time year of work in audiology. -Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Note: new graduates must obtain their CCC's within 3 months of their start date. Massachusetts license to practice Audiology. -One year of professional full-time work experience (including traineeship), preferably in a hospital or medical private office setting.
