  • We are hiring immediately for a full time FOOD TRANSPORTER/DELIVERY DRIVER position.
  • Location: MG Foods - 701 Monster Road SW, Renton, WA 98057 Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Full time schedule. Days and hours may vary. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime. More details upon interview.
  • Requirement: Delivery experience required (CDL Preferred)
  • Pay Rate: $23.00-$26.00 (depending on experience)

    Job Summary

    Summary: Delivers food, supplies and other products to units and areas of service using a vehicle.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Picks up requisitioned supplies from staging clerk.
    • Receives completed production orders from staging clerk. Inventories items to ensure completion of production orders.
    • Loads orders onto truck with assistance of staging clerks in a safe, orderly manner.
    • Unloads requisitioned materials at delivery site.
    • Follows sanitation and safety guidelines when handling food and equipment.
    • Ensures hot and cold food items are kept in compliance with company standards and meet all sanitation and safety requirements.
    • Collects empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise.
    • Responsible for general cleanliness of assigned vehicle.
    • Performs routine maintenance on truck.
    • Interacts with coworkers to ensure company service standards.
    • Provides quality customer service via one-on-one attention to detail.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Must have a valid state driver's license and a valid food handler's permit where required.
    • Valid driver's license, ensuring safe operation of company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and conditions.

    Shift: 4am (full time) (may require overnight stay) Flexibility required.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform safe operations of Fresh & Ready Food vehicles including driving and safety checks daily, weekly, monthly

    • Load, deliver, and unload Fresh & Ready Foods products to customers in accordance with instructions and procedures from supervisors and managers

    • Keep accurate pick-up and delivery administrative records; immediately reporting any discrepancies or customer issues

    • Observe all hours of service and other requirements as indicated by Sales & Marketing Department as well as by customers

    • Keep accurate records of all pre-approved expenses

    • Maintain a clean a neat personal appearance while on company time

    • Always uphold a professional demeanor with customers, co-workers, and the public

    • Maintain and carry a current California Commercial Driver's License

    • Carry a current medical health insurance identification card

    • Maintain clean driving record with no outstanding violations

    • Meet minimum qualifications established by the U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations for truck drivers engaging in interstate commerce

    • Maintain the strictest confidentiality at all times on matters pertaining to the company and its customers, vendors, distributors, and staff;

    • Promote by example the principles of the Fresh & Ready Foods;

    • Consistently demonstrate professional verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;

    • Maintain composure when handling unexpected challenges and competing demands.

    Requirements/Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

    • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred.

    • 2+ years of proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred

    • Clean driving record with no moving violations.

    • Must pass a background check and drug test.

    • Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles.

    • Alert, focused, and detail-oriented.

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time with or without reasonable accommodation.

    • Comfortable with long-haul transport.

    • Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.

    • Proficient using GPS and other routing systems.

    • Map reading and route planning experience.

    • An innate sense of direction.

    • Self-starter who works well independently.

    • Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.

    • High level of composure and good stress management.
