Your Role With Us

This Medical Assistant role in the OB/GYN clinic plays a vital part in both patient care and clinic operations. By assessing vital signs, identifying urgent health concerns, assisting with procedures, and supporting providers with accurate documentation and follow-through, the MA ensures patients receive timely, compassionate, and effective care.
Their work not only enhances patient outcomes and experiences but also supports the overall efficiency and quality of care within the clinic.

What you'll do

  • Evaluates patients, identifies life-threatening conditions, and alerts physicians accordingly.
  • Collects patient history, documents vital signs, and reassesses conditions after interventions.
  • Determines care priorities, intervenes in urgent cases, and escalates care when necessary.
  • Coordinates and documents physician orders, initiates diagnostic tests per protocol.
  • Adjusts to patient flow needs, ensuring continuity of care and efficiency.
  • Provides clear discharge instructions, involves family, and ensures referrals/resources are available.
  • Performs basic lab tests, maintains competency in quality control and proficiency testing.
  • Ensures medication safety, security, and proper administration per protocols.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in all clinic-related patient care tasks.
  • Maintains precise records in Epic Ambulatory for visits, calls, and requests.
  • Properly assigns facility charges for patient encounters.

Background/experience

Must hold current medical assistant certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT or equivalentBLS certification required within 30 days of hireExperience in either an urgent care facility or family practice office preferred Communications skills enabling adequate information flow in a pleasant manner, not only with co-workers and patients, but also with telephone, fax and computer communicationCompetency in the performance of patient care skills Organizational and interpersonal skills Total rewards package
