JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Sartorius Cell Culture Facility (SCCF) is a multi-user (cost-recovery) shared resource administered by the Huck Institutes and housed in the Chandlee Laboratory. It provides services to multiple University research groups, as well as external groups through ARSO agreements. Responsibilities: Following are the key responsibilities of this position:
The successful candidate in conjunction with the Facility Director, will provide and oversee all services, and train the facility users. Together, they will be responsible for operating and maintaining of all of the equipment within the facility. This is a term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent prospects of renewal. Education and Experience: This position will be filled at the Intermediate Professional or the Advanced Professional level, based on the successful candidate's qualifications. The minimum qualifications are a Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs is required. Prior experience in daily operations and management of a research lab is highly favorable, as is a working knowledge of mammalian cell culture skills (basic cell culture, stem cell culture, transfection, cryopreservation, biomolecule purification, a demonstrated competence with sterile and aseptic techniques and supporting analytical techniques). Good interpersonal and communication skills are required in order to assist the multidisciplinary faculty and trainees in optimizing experimental parameters and interpreting data.
