About the Position Kellogg Insight is the hub for Kellogg thought leadership across a broad media landscape to reach academic peers on a global scale. This includes the digital magazine, Insight, with roughly 120 articles a year with a mix of peer-reviewed research and non-research content and reaches over 1.5 million pageviews annually. In addition, Insight produces and streams two podcasts, The Insightful Leader and Insight Unpacked, various webinars, and publishes multiple online newsletters. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean, Research & Strategy, the Director & Editor-in-Chief, Kellogg Insight, is responsible for developing, innovating, and overseeing Kellogg's thought leadership across multiple channels of content development and curation. This includes oversight as Editor-in-Chief of Insight, as well as the vast portfolio of owned channels, including but not limited to the digital magazine, online newsletters, special publications, webinars, multimedia and podcasts, content for Kellogg School faculty and research web pages, social media as well as other media partner platforms. The Director also manages and leads projects to improve the digital site architecture to ensure these channels are effective to a broad audience and the content is easily sourced to global academic peers. Primary responsibilities include working closely with senior faculty leadership at Kellogg to ensure that the content development and curation across channels aligns with Kellogg priorities and reflects the breadth and depth of research scholarship and business practice. The Director will be responsible for working closely with faculty across all departments to build trust and buy-in from faculty and implement a pipeline of research and practitioner-oriented content that showcases the school's thought leadership. The Director will partner with multiple program leaders and content strategists to structure a content calendar that serves the needs of various stakeholders, including core academic departments, Executive Education, Kellogg Institutes, Centers, and Programs, and Integrated Marketing and Communications teams, Alumni Relations, and serves as a resource for multiple areas on strategizing for audience development and engagement for thought leadership. The Director supervises a collaborative team of 4 editors and analysts as well as a number of part-time contract writers, editors, illustrators, translators, designers, and technical support. This position oversees a $300,000 budget for content creation and architecture improvements. This role requires a proven leader, strong science writer and editor, project manager, and strategic and creative thinker with experience managing a variety of projects from concept to execution across a broad media landscape. Target hiring range for this position will be between $110,000 - $130,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
