Summary: Responsibilities: Other information: Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. BASIC KNOWLEDGE:Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with MS degree. Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) to practice in the expanded role. License must include prescriptive privileges. Certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. EXPERIENCE: Five years of experience with clinical cardiology patients preferably with previous experience with CHF patient populations. Cardiac NP subspecialty preferred. Must have patient care services procedures and privileges approved by the sponsoring physician/Director. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Healthcare environment such as acute care hospitals physicians* offices and ancillary healthcare enterprises. Works with medical equipment and has direct patient contact. Any potential hazards are minimized by adherence to established safety procedures and precautions including use safety equipment and protective clothing. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None.
