The Role

Mission:




  • Chicago Pneumatic and American Pneumatic Tool are looking for a product and applications expert to be responsible for the products within our portable air tools portfolio. Ultimately supporting the sales team in the field as well as our dealer partners on technical info and training.


  • Success in this role requires excellent critical thinking, a passion for data and specifications, strong project management and support abilities, and clear communication skills.



Roles and Responsibilities:

Business Development




  • New Product Development - Manage the development of multigenerational innovative product plans and roadmaps, utilizing disciplined portfolio and innovation management processes and tools. Manage all aspects of "New Product Development" (NPD) from ideation to product launch - meeting project timelines and channel/ customer expectations. Support all Key/Strategic Account Managers to align our products with the needs of our key customer base.


  • Sales Enablement - Be a subject matter expert in all things related to the Pneumatic Tool Portfolio. Design, schedule and conduct training for all Sales Managers on current and future Products. Report and communicate with the sales forces on stock and lead-times for all tool products. Support the field sales force with product specific question as the subject matter expert.


  • Visit customer's sites to provide technical expertise and to aid in setup and commissioning of products in the assigned brands and ranges. Attend Applicable Trade Shows in support of the Brand and Sales Team.


  • Voice of the Customer - Determine, track and report customer pain points for customers and relay that through production and engineering to improve our product and customer experience. Report product or customer experience improvements through VOC.


  • Identify opportunities by researching industry publications, announcements & events relating to the portfolio of products.



Marketing Operations and Planning




  • Pricing - Own and update the Material Master, Customer Master, Price Lists, Discount Structure and other customer facing tools used by the Sales Managers to promote and sell our products.


  • Documentation - Ensure proper branding for all customer facing documents. Update the Product Roadmap for the current Chicago Pneumatic and American Pneumatic Tool Product Ranges. Understand and follow the competition via continuous comparison and develop fact sheets.


  • Reporting - Assist Management in the preparation of presentations and reports as needed to support the business.

  • Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000 per year. This range represents the low and high end of the salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and location.

What we expect of you?

Education:




  • This position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, sales, marketing or related, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.



Experience:




  • This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience working in the construction/rental industry, specifically with portable air compressors and tool applications.



Skills:

Must be able to operate in a senior-level business environment, including effectively communicating and developing relationships with team members and customers.

To be successful in this role, the person should:



  • Have excellent business analysis, planning and organizing skills. With strong working ability in Excel, Power BI, SAP, C4C
  • Have knowledge of the Portable Energy product range and specific knowledge on portable air compressors is required.
  • Previous experience with portable air compressors.
  • Have effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Have proven ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Have demonstrated a willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Have a relevant technical working knowledge of the Chicago Pneumatic and American Pneumatic Tool hand tools.
  • Have field experience working in heavy equipment rentals with in-depth application knowledge and real-world experience.



Travel:




  • This position requires moderate travel (up to 30% of the time) throughout the U.S. and globally as needed to coordinate activities.
