Position Overview:

The Specialty Lending Processor performs a variety of activities to support the underwriter and ensures loans are processed and closed within departmental policy and compliance regulations. This includes inputting and updating loan data into the Loan Origination Software (LOS) for marine, aircraft and manufactured home loans, assemble and verify loan documentation for accuracy, review loan packages for completeness, and ensure all time sensitive disclosures and documents are delivered with accuracy and on a timely basis.

Primary Accountabilities:
  • Retrieves and reviews new loan applications via email or shared broker portals. Verifies information on loan applicants, such as employment, rent, residence and creates customer folders, profiles and enters loans into the LOS;
  • Responsible for running due diligence checks on applicants as needed (Lexis Nexis, Google, Courts, IDV, etc.).
  • Responsible for the accurate validating of packages when they are received from Loan Brokers. Keeps Broker records/reports up to date.
  • Ensures all files for all applications are assembled in a timely manner and maintains the file for each application in process. Continually monitors and updates verified information in the LOS and the physical file as it is received. This includes items such as surveys, liquidity, title searches, aircraft valuation and entity documentation.
  • Review and prepare completed closed loan packages received from brokers for accuracy. Prepare wires and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) ticket for loan funding.
  • Informs underwriter/supervisor of any documentation or customer issues relative to the loan process.
  • Mail adverse action letters to customers. Prepare and move a copy of the digital file to shared loan servicing drive for scanning.
  • Coordinates closings and funding with brokers.
  • Interacts with originating outlets to ensure compliance and effectiveness of products and documents.
  • Ensures timely booking of loans in cooperation with Loan Operations department.
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Education & Work Experience:
  • High-school degree or equivalent required, College degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of lending experience helpful
  • Strong computer and organizational skills including MS office and Adobe are required
  • Knowledge of consumer loan regulations including but not limited to HMDA, BSA, AML, RESPA, Reg Z, Reg B and Fair Lending
  • Must have time-management and be detail oriented, be able to review documents with great detail, and have good verbal and written skills.
