Title: Human Resources Technician//HR Records Specialist

Location: 748 Battlefield Blvd, N Chesapeake, VA 23320

Pay Rate: $20.00/Hour on W2 without benefits

Duration: 4+ months

Shift Timing (Day/ Evening/ Night): Monday - Friday, 6 hours a day (9 am - 3:30 pm) Break time:- 30 minutes a day

BG Check Required: Yes

Role and responsibilities:

  • General knowledge of human resource programs, regulations and guidelines.
  • Ability and experience applying applicable policies and procedures.
  • Ability to prepare, process, track and file personnel records.
  • Knowledge and experience with administrative and clerical processes and procedures.
  • Strong computer, oral and written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.


Purpose of position:


  • Performs technical administrative HR support requiring knowledge and application of applicable policy and procedures. Characteristics activities include: assisting with recruitment and staffing efforts, new employee orientation, data entry, records maintenance and support of payroll and benefits processes. The incumbent assists with benefits orientation processes and coordinates resolution of related inquiries; provides guidance to staff on routine HR matters (i.e. leave, benefits and recruitment). Provides support for recruitment and screenings efforts and prepares and maintains associated files and documents. May post approved recruitments ads.


Typical core duties:
Administrative Support & Records maintenance:


  • Prepares and maintains personnel files in accordance with records maintenance policies and procedures.
  • inputs and maintains HR related data into established HR databases (i.e. recruitment and selection dates)
  • May generate reports using established guidelines and procedures reviews forms for completeness and accuracy


Recruitment & Selection Support:


  • Supports HR team with recruitment efforts as needed.
  • Coordinates and schedules job interviews and panels.
  • Assist with preparing files and paperwork for interviews.
  • Collects new employee forms.
  • May post approved recruitment positing's in the recruitment management system.
  • Provides general guidance and/or directs inquires to appropriate HR contact for response.
