Job Summary:



The Department of Radiation Oncology of the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a full-time radiation oncologist, with a primary clinical and academic focus in the treatment of breast cancer. The primary sites of practice will be the Anschutz Medical Campus and Highlands Ranch Hospital. This faculty member will be the breast cancer lead and work with other faculty members across metro-Denver who also treat breast cancer. All faculty in the department provide some cross-coverage of patients with diseases outside their primary specialty interest depending on overall clinical service needs. All faculty in the department participate in departmental peer review processes.

This position requires the completion of an accredited residency in radiation oncology and ABR certification. Applicants must be able to obtain licensure for the practice of medicine within the State of Colorado, prescriptive authority and obtain privileges at our participating hospitals.

The department has a Radiation Oncology residency training program (2 residents per year) and faculty are expected to supervise, teach, and mentor trainees. The position will include lectures, journal clubs, and other teaching activities related to breast cancer.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Evaluate and manage patients with breast cancer
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary breast cancer clinics and tumor boards
  • Lead clinical research initiatives related to breast cancer
  • Supervise, teach, and mentor trainees



Work Location:



Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado and Highlands Ranch, Colorado

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below.

To qualify for the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, the candidate must have achieved this rank or equivalent via an institutional evaluation process similar to that at the CU School of Medicine or must have a record of academic accomplishment that would merit appointment to this rank at the CU School of Medicine.

Assistant Professor:



  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited radiation oncology residency program and ABR Board Certification
  • 2 years of post residency clinical experience


Associate Professor:



  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited radiation oncology residency program and ABR Board Certification
  • 5 years of post residency clinical experience


Professor:



  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited radiation oncology residency program and ABR Board Certification
  • 7 years of post residency clinical experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Demonstrated aptitude for clinical and/or translational research in the area of breast cancer, as evidenced by publications, involvement in clinical trials (e.g. accrual to NCI-sponsored or industry trials and/or service as the principal investigator for national or institutional clinical trials), research grant support, and/or similar indicator of academic productivity.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Assistant Professor: $325,000 to 437,000

Associate Professor: $375,000 to 487,000

Professor: $425,000 to 537,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
