Sheeter Operator

Summary of Job

The Sheeter Operator will be responsible for running the sheeter equipment. The Operator is responsible for leading a group of one (1) to two (2) employees at the Sheeter station to ensure accuracy.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The right candidate will lead their job with a strong safety mindset including but not limited to:



  • Ensure that all company safety procedures are followed to include OSHA compliance guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
  • Abide by all company rules and policies regarding conduct and safety.
  • Quality checking of all jobs- verifying sheeter specifications before beginning job. If any potential quality problems are found, inform the Production Supervisor.
  • Sheeting of jobs to customer specifications- proper width, flute, length, scores, and cartons, or any other special instructions.
  • Calculate and run jobs to counts specified on the production order sheets.
  • Daily cleaning of the machine at the end of every shift- all rollers and nips are to be free of any foreign debris.
  • Inspect finished goods for correct cutoff lengths, smash flutes, and width and length of sheets.
  • Remove defective material identified by the Sheeter Operator and/or Packer.



Competency (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)



  • Knowledge of various material-handling equipment an asset.


  • Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace.


  • Good math, language, reading skills.
  • Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of warehouse arrangement and functionality.



Environment



  • Exposure to moving equipment.
  • Inside work.
  • Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Humidity may exceed 80%
  • Noise may exceed 85dB+


Physical Characteristics



  • Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 60 pounds)
  • Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice- assisted as needed



Position Type



  • Full time
  • Shift work required.



Education and Experience



  • High school diploma/GED.
  • 2+ years' experience operating a Rewinder.
