Southridge Behavioral Hospital is a beautiful and new state-of-the-art facility. As a joint venture with the Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services, we will serve up to 96 adult and geriatric patients across four units when we open in Spring of 2025.

Position Description: The Food Service Manager is responsible for the daily delivery and operations of the Dietary Department. In addition the Food Service Manager:

• Oversees staff including scheduling, hiring, employee relations, and performance management.
• Safely prepares, cooks and present meals according to hospital menu for patients, staff and visitors.
• Completes nutrition consultation and meal planning in conjunction with Registered Dietitian. Assures that meals and snacks are prepared according to the published menu and recipe directions and they are presented in a healthy, tasteful, and visually appealing manner.
• Manages and maintains inventory control and completes departmental purchasing to assure all equipment and ingredients needed to prepare scheduled menu meals are available. Adjusts the menu, when appropriate, if equipment or ingredients are unavailable.
• Directs infection control compliance for food preparation, storage and equipment maintenance.
• Participates on the patient care planning team to assure dietary compliance that aligns with the patient's goals and care plan.
• Cross train to support broader Plant Operations team.

Food and Dietary Service Manager Hours and Location:

Hours for this position are Full Time. We are located on the south side of Grand Rapids, near the intersection of M-6 and Byron Center Ave SW: 6291 Venture Hills Boulevard SW, Byron Center, MI 49315

Food and Dietary Service Manager Job Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience managing food services is required.

Minimum of 5 years experience as a cook in an institutional setting is preferred.

ServSafe Certification Required
