- Position: Paramedic Instructor
- Hourly Pay Range: 30.46 - 45.69 USD Hourly . The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

- Full Time/Part Time: Part time
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
What you will do:
- Plans, researches, and conducts paramedic education sessions that assure and improve the competence of paramedic students. Does so in compliance with the Edward Paramedic Education program guidelines and in collaboration with the Edward Paramedic Education Coordinator.
- Supplies students with necessary feedback and evaluation for quality improvement as it relates to didactic and practical skills. Assists with appropriate re-education measures; designs methods to modify or eliminate barriers to effective student learning.
- Provides thorough documentation to verify competency of students during practical rotations
- Utilizes information technologies, didactic, and psychomotor materials skillfully to support the teaching-learning process
- Uses a variety of teaching strategies in the classroom to foster critical thinking skills while maintaining an appropriate climate for learning.
- Assists in the maintenance of classroom equipment and medical supplies necessary for instruction; notifies Edward Paramedic Education Coordinator and/or Dean of any deficiencies or needs prior to scheduled classes to facilitate the learning needs of students
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in EMS by reading appropriate professional journals; membership in professional organizations
What you will need:
- Education:
- A minimum of three years of experience in emergency, pre-hospital nursing or pre-hospital paramedic care
- Expertise in instructing and/or developing educational programs that incorporate adult learning principles; educational objectives; relevant/accurate content; bibliography; competency assessments including proper test question development and skill assessment
- Proficient in Microsoft word, excel and database tools, with strong knowledge of computer system interfacing
- IF RN, ECRN privileges in the EHEMSS required within three months of employment.
- Certification:
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse or paramedic licensure
- Current CPR certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross
- IF RN, certification as an IDPH Emergency Communications Registered Nurse (ECRN)
- Unique or Preferred Skills:
- Illinois Lead Instructor
- If RN, Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS), Trauma Nursing Course Certified (TNCC)
- If Paramedic, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support/International Trauma Life Support (PHTLS/ITLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Life Support (PALS)
