We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Office 365 Engineer to join our IT team. In this role, you will work within a hybrid cloud environment, ensuring the smooth deployment, configuration, and management of Office 365 services. You will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of Office 365 applications and services, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises systems and cloud-based solutions.

As an Office 365 Engineer 1, you will assist in troubleshooting, optimizing, and supporting the organization's Office 365 environment, collaborating with other IT teams to ensure business continuity and productivity across all departments.

Responsibilities

  • Office 365 Administration:
    • Manage and maintain Office 365 tenant, including user accounts, licenses, and permissions.
    • Assist in the configuration and management of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and Power Platform.
    • Ensure user provisioning, de-provisioning, and troubleshooting workflows align with corporate policies.
  • Hybrid Cloud Integration:
    • Support the integration between on-premises Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (AAD) to facilitate hybrid environments.
    • Assist in implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions across Office 365 and on-premises systems.
    • Ensure smooth transition and synchronization between local and cloud environments, including email migration, document management, and collaboration tools.
  • Monitoring & Performance:
    • Monitor the performance and health of the Office 365 services using the Microsoft 365 admin center and third-party tools.
    • Assist in identifying and resolving issues impacting user productivity, including service outages or degradation.
    • Generate reports and provide recommendations for improving Office 365 utilization, security, and performance.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Help enforce security policies and manage compliance configurations in Office 365, including data loss prevention (DLP), encryption, retention policies, and eDiscovery.
    • Assist in setting up audit logs, security alerts, and reviewing security incidents related to Office 365 services.
  • End-User Support & Troubleshooting:
    • Provide tier 1/2 support for Office 365 issues, troubleshooting problems related to email, user access, Teams, SharePoint, and other applications.
    • Assist end-users with training and troubleshooting Office 365 features to maximize usage and minimize downtime.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
    • Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.
    • Share knowledge with team members and assist in training new hires or junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience:
    • 2-4 years of experience working with Microsoft 365 (Office 365) administration, IT support, or cloud systems.
    • Experience in supporting hybrid IT environments (on-premises and cloud).
    • Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and related authentication systems.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of core Office 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange, and Power Automate.
    • Basic understanding of cloud technologies, Azure, and hybrid cloud concepts.
    • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for Office 365 administration and automation.
    • Understanding of IT security best practices (e.g., MFA, SSO, data protection).
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical issues quickly.
  • Certifications (Preferred but not required):
    • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
    • Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
