About the Job

The research in the Bielczyk-Maczynska lab (https://ebm-lab.org) focuses on understanding of the physiological function and role of cell membrane receptors in metabolism and metabolic disease. We use a combination of mouse and cell culture models, and molecular biology techniques. Please see our recent publication for reference on the possible scope of experimental work: PMCID:PMC9715671.

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Associate to join our team. Primary responsibilities include designing and executing experiments to test specific hypotheses, analyzing data, and writing manuscripts. The Postdoctoral Associate is expected to lead an ongoing project and may be involved in other projects, as well as in the development of new projects.

Focus of Job Responsibilities

Ongoing Research - 70%

  • Design and implementation of hypothesis-driven research projects.

Analysis & Review - 15%

  • Analysis and review of generated data.
  • Review of scientific literature.

Scientific writing and presentation - 10%

  • Writing scientific manuscripts.
  • Generating figures for grant proposals.

Other - 5%

  • Participating in training and outreach.
  • Lab maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Experience in molecular biology, physiology, or biochemistry.
  • Track record of working with animal models.
  • Ability to learn and incorporate new methods and develop and modify them as needed.
  • Strong oral and written skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $61,008 - $74,088; depending on education/qualifications/experience
