In the role of Proposal Manager, we'll count on you to:
- Lead and support pursuit teams in creating and implementing effective win strategies through capture planning for upcoming project opportunities
- Facilitate pursuit teams to develop persuasive proposal and interview materials
- Develop and produce proposals, work plans, and schedules and confirm compliance to RFP documents
- Develop and coordinate layouts and graphics using brand standards
- Engage the appropriate marketing and technical resources in pursuit teams
- Write non-technical text, and edit and proofread marketing collateral
- Be responsible for timely production and quality of marketing communications
- Lead quality reviews of proposal and interview materials
- Lead or support development and implementation of client development plans, including long-term strategies to capture market share
- Coach interview teams to be effective at delivering key messages during interview presentations or client meetings
- Facilitate debriefs to identify improvement opportunities and to measure overall competitiveness
- Train and mentor employees on business development and marketing best practices
- Articulate HDR's capabilities and competitive advantages
- Maintain accurate project opportunity forecasting in our Oracle system and generate reports when needed.

Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years of relevant experience
- Superb written and oral communication skills
- Mastery of strategic marketing communication concepts
- Excellent time management, organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines with diplomacy
- Willingness to travel to all Southern California areas as required
- Ability to compose documents onscreen and to communicate graphically
- Interface with people both inside and outside the firm including clients and sub-consultants
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently as well as in team environments
- Strength in managing multiple deadlines/multi-tasking skills while providing responsive communication
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with emphasis on superior persuasive writing, and presentation; Interview coaching ability a plus
- Enjoy working with different personality styles and management levels
- Requires little or no direction in area of specialization
- Positive outlook and attitude
- Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry's standard approach to procurement of professional services; Water industry experience a plus
- Demonstrated experience in writing compelling content based on information from technical staff
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated "self-starter" with a history of completing projects with limited oversight
- Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign
