About the Job

Full-time, nine-month tenure-track or P&A lecturer position in the ACBSP-accredited Business Department at the Crookston campus of the University of Minnesota starting August 14, 2025. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive fringe benefits package is offered. Final job offer is contingent upon receipt of official transcripts, complete background check, and authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality undergraduate instruction on campus and online to the students in the Business Department across at least two subfields in the discipline.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • advise students on course selection and career paths;
  • participate in recruitment and retention efforts;
  • enhance programs and student experiences, as well as employment opportunities;
  • contribute to department as an academically or professionally qualified faculty member as defined by ACBSP;
  • provide service to the department, institution, and profession; and
  • work collaboratively with faculty colleagues.

Tenure-track faculty appointments are required to establish and maintain their own research agendas, which may include community engaged scholarship work and work with undergraduate students. Tenure-system appointments carry a teaching load of no more than 24 credits annually (typically 3-4 courses per semester). Three to six credits of research release may be granted. Service is required in accordance with tenure criteria.

Full-time lecturer appointments are not expected to establish a research agenda. Lecturers are eligible for professional development support. Full-time lecturer appointments carry a teaching load of no more than 30 credits annually.

The position requires regular office hours and engagement in service activities on the University of Minnesota Crookston campus.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver effective teaching both on campus and online.
  • Ability to draw upon cultural and community-based knowledge in teaching.
  • Ability to demonstrate cultural competency within the scope of the land grant mission.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Commitment to an experiential educational philosophy within the scope of the land grant mission.
  • Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in a Business-related field.
  • College teaching experience in business related fields.
  • Familiarity with computer-based instructional technology.
  • Candidates for a tenure-track position must demonstrate the ability to produce journal-worthy scholarship in a business-related discipline.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000 ; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment
