Leadership Contributions:



  • Contribute or assist in marketing of projects
  • Assist with executing technical design initiatives, direction, and strategic objectives for the architecture practice.
  • Reinforce, strengthen, and develop our practice-wide culture of technical design excellence.
  • Assist in elevating the firm's design caliber through creative and technically sound detailing.
  • Actively participate and contribute to meetings with technical design team and architect representatives to discuss current issues, needs, initiatives, projects, etc.
  • Create, conduct, and maintain education, training, and required infrastructure critical to maintaining accurate and comprehensive details.
  • Contribute to communications strategy and infrastructure (SharePoint, Teams, Emails, etc.).
  • Communicate with project management and teams regarding ABG technical performance and any developments of note.



Project Work Contributions:



  • Lead the technical design of projects by providing guidance, direction, creativity on designing and detailing enclosure systems.
  • Assist the design and digital delivery teams in determining the best solutions for use of materials, interaction of design elements, and integrity of enclosure.
  • Collaborate with project design teams to facilitate project execution through highly skilled detailing.
  • Understand the climatic influences of a region to apply the necessary adjustments to the enclosure design.
  • Integrate sustainable practices into the details and provide carbon neutral solutions.
  • Mentor project teams on the culture of technically competent high design and the execution of quality documentation
  • Coordinate with HDR's digital delivery leaders to efficiently incorporate technical data into project delivery processes, details, standards, and documents.
  • Reinforce and strengthen the culture of technically competent high design
  • Utilize, incorporate, and refine library of building enclosure details, standards, and best practices that encapsulate high design.
  • Execute, apply, and further develop the exterior building enclosure content, templates, schedules, processes, etc.
  • Validate, test, and implement new materials for use in building envelopes.
  • Coordinate new materials and related requirements with master specification writers


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • Experience in the areas of healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max .
  • Rhino and Grasshopper experience

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
  • A minimum of 10 years experience
  • Registered Architect
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
  • Must have experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
