We have a job opening and exciting opportunity for a full-time Human Resources Coordinator in any Concordance locations. The primary role of the HR Coordinator is working directly with managers and employees across our 19 locations on general Human Resources functions, with a primary focus on employee relations and leave management (FMLA, Short/Long Term Disability, state-specific leave, etc.). We are seeking a knowledgeable, meticulous individual with a persisting "employee as the customer" mindset to join our team. As this person works on employee relations issues and leave management, they will aid in our goal of fostering an encouraging and constructive work environment that positively impacts the lives of our employees, customers and communities we serve.

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include overall coordination and processing of daily Human Resources operations while providing outstanding customer service to internal staff members and external contacts. It's imperative that this person has a deep understanding of regulatory requirements (and is able to research when presented with a unique situation) as we serve our diverse employee base. The individual will be responsible for possessing full understanding of the goals and objectives of the Human Resources department and Concordance Healthcare Solutions. This individual in this position will foster good communication with all internal departments to ensure alignment of all goals / objectives. The HR Coordinator will advise managers and employees on HR matters as needed, as well as resolving routine problems as they arise or by recommending how problems can be resolved. This position is expected to exercise independent judgement in following established procedures where alternatives are limited. This is a full-time exempt position.



  • Proactively works with Concordance staff to ensure that the company's HR needs are being met. Provides guidance to employees and managers by exhibiting a positive attitude while navigating through situations that arise.
  • This position will be responsible for general HR day-to-day operations with a primary focus on FMLA management, Short/Long Term Disability, ADA accommodations and employee relations issues.
  • Responsible for leave management, including the administration of FMLA. Sends and tracks Employee Rights and Responsibilities, Certification of Health Care Provider forms, and Designation forms as needed. Track hours of FMLA leave used, as needed. Help resolve concerns and issues from employees, managers, HR, and other customers and external parties regarding processes and policies.
  • Administer Leave of Absence, transitional work agreements, and ADA accommodations which include accurately interpreting and applying State and Federal leave laws, including FMLA, USERRA, and ADA policies to resolve issues.
  • Educate and advise employees, work with and monitor vendors to accurately track leaves and ensure compliance.
  • Lead the "interactive process" required by the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), documenting steps taken and ensuring the appropriate and necessary individuals are involved, resulting in a timely and effective determination on all accommodation requests.
  • Monitor payroll for employees on leave to ensure accuracy and minimize corrections, notifying payroll timely of any changes in pay or benefits.
  • Assists with developing standard operating procedures for the leave management and accommodation processes to ensure compliance with company policies, and State and Federal laws. Suggests changes based upon need and compliance, and makes recommendations for streamlining of processes in an effort to maintain continual improvement. Stays up to date with any legal changes that affect these areas.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to associates regarding employee leave of absence, ADA, and other related questions and providing issue resolution; direct employees to appropriate resources and provide education on plans, coverage, policies and procedures.
  • Assist with preparation of data and information for annual reporting/participant notification requirements, HR audits, and other compliance needs as required; supports regular internal audit activities to ensure data integrity and completeness.
  • Partners with HR Manager to address Employee Relations issues. Conduct fair, neutral, and timely investigations in accordance with company policies and procedures and federal/state regulations. Administer corrective actions. Partner with managers and HR team on other employee relations activities as they arise. Responsible for full cycle processes through to resolution, escalate as needed.
  • Support in the delivery of HR programs and processes related to performance management, employee engagement, promotion process, and talent management.
  • Conducts exit interviews and analyzes turnover data to make recommendations to the management team to reduce unplanned and regrettable turnover, as needed.
  • Acts as back-up for Worker's Compensation: Supports HR Manager with the administration of the Worker's Compensation program, including maintaining appropriate records and OSHA logs.
  • Acts as back-up for Unemployment claims, as needed: Coordinates the unemployment process. Researches and completes related documents, maintains files, and prepares appeals as needed.
  • Develop relationships and excellent lines of communication with all internal key members; develop a clear understanding of the needs and expectations of the company.
  • Participate in company meetings and initiatives as appropriate. Be an active participant in sharing best practices, researching solutions, and proactively looking for ways for the department and company to become more efficient.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    What You Will Need To Be Successful:


    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least 3 years of Human Resources experience required, preferably in Employee Relations and Leave Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Solid foundational knowledge of benefits/leave of absence/general HR processes, regulations, and laws; strong knowledge of HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA & ADA. General understanding on ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations.
    • Proven ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and handling of sensitive information.
    • Self-motivated and ability to work well within a fast-paced, high volume HR team environment.
    • Understanding of need and ability to act with urgency and provide accurate information to customers.
    • Ability to establish strong relationships within all levels of an organization.
    • Previous experience with HRIS and/or Payroll systems.
    • Ideal candidate will have demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills.
    • Broad working knowledge of the various areas of Human Resources.
    • Excellent customer service, time management, and organizational skills.
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, and ability to learn new systems quickly and efficiently.
    • Solid analytical abilities, and effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Self-starter with a positive attitude and able to successfully execute initiatives with some guidance and accomplish stated goals.
    • Must be able to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
    • Ability to build relationships at various levels and influence decisions.
    • Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug screening.

    • With the possibility of a work from home hybrid model (in office part of the week and remote part of the week).
