Summary:

The Global Species Product Manager plans, organizes, and controls an assigned product line. This role is responsible for planning, inventory management, pricing, and third-party sales to optimize profit and meet growth objectives by performing the following duties:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drives sales through sales/commercial group by continually informing managers of product availability and opportunities.
  • Prepares product development objectives and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to market, including attending plant tests and first production runs.
  • Maintains communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, schedule, and sales information for product line.
  • Manages Sales and internal demand fulfillment by tracking production and shipment
  • Coordinates with supply and demand planning team on overall production needs to ensure optimum inventory level based on customer's demand.
  • Maintains allocation and sales plan by customer and item.
  • Assigns actual production to Sales Order, internal demand, and transfer order
  • Shipping/Logistic planning/Instruction/adjustment with AK operations, Global support, and logistic team
  • Provides financial and technical justification for product selection and definition.
  • Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volumes, potential sales, and areas of opportunity.
  • Analyzes GM reports and recommends sales and business strategy.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical expertise and training to other departments in support of product development.
  • Conducts market research and identifies and tracks market trends to make recommendations on global commodity pricing.
  • May independently prospect and conduct Commodity sales to third party customers
  • Providing support to sales group to drive their commodity/value added sales
  • Develops and maintains a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for product.
  • Provide product training and presentation to internal and external customers as needed.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $85k to $105k.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in product management or related field
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, research, and development, purchasing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Ability to engage with Sales/Commercial groups regarding availability and price and any additional information required by customers.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with strong analytical critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to analyze, organize, and simplify complex problems to develop practical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of project management practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Seafood industry experience

Special Training/Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to supervisor and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
