ENGINEERING MANAGER

DUNCAN, SC

This role is highly skilled and responsible working; supervising, and coordinating, assigned functions and programs within the Engineering Department to include planning, process and equipment development. Incumbents in this classification are responsible for setting goals, establishing priorities, managing resources, developing concepts and approaches, and reviewing projects progress and results. Utilizing leading technology, core standards, best practices to provide the best quality and efficiency in the industry.

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:



  • Drive Company Standards

    • Develop, implement, and maintain corporate standards
    • Process, Labor, and efficiency
    • (MOST) Maynard Operation Sequence Technique
    • Line balancing


  • Product Launch and Project Implementation

    • Drive cross functional engagement
    • Track spending
    • Schedule and execute engineering tasks to meet launch milestones


  • Advanced Program Readiness

    • Team member with AME to conduct initial labor assessment
    • Team Member with Materials to develop material process flow
    • Lead of PFMEA
    • Design for manufacturing and drive closure of build issues
    • Operational strategy, capacity analysis, and equipment needs
    • Timeline and critical path planning
    • Spending forecasting


  • Drive corporate standards

    • Identify idle assets within Lear globally for reuse
    • Attend design reviews and runoff of equipment
    • Implement and Improve equipment functionality
    • Push new standards up in organization based on lessons learned
    • Basic understanding of controls, PLC, Sensors, controls communications


  • Quality

    • Reduce frequency occurrence
    • Increase detection
    • Following fastening strategy standard


  • Support Company Growth

    • Support technical reviews with customers
    • Provide Inputs to develop cost models - capital, tooling, labor, & start up
    • Seek out new manufacturing strategies to improve quality and efficiencies




Your Qualifications:



  • Auto CAD- Ability to modify and develop 2D layouts
  • Most- Ability to develop and modify current labor standards-Line balancing
  • Management skills to lead engineering department
  • Critical path management- Launch scheduling for Engineering disciplines
  • Fastening strategy- Atlas Copco Tools Talk software
  • Knowledge of Project Management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access required.
  • Ability to use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions.
  • Ability to work with or contribute to a work group or team to complete assigned task(s).


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Possess knowledge of ISO 14001, OSHA, and TS16949 requirements and compliance.
  • Understand and communicate applicable safety standards: general industry (OSHA 1910), machine guarding, robot safety (ANSI/RIA 15.06), automated vehicles, conveyor safety


Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering and 6-8 years relevant experience or equivalent.
