The Sonographer job performs the practice of ultrasonography and is responsible for the administration of high-frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques to humans of all ages (newborn to geriatric) for medical purposes. A Sonographer/Technologist performs ultrasonography procedures and related techniques, producing images at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner. Knowledge and Competency Highly experienced. Proficient in modality advanced competencies. Education, Certification & Experience The position requires certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) as a sonographer ARRT(S) or RDMS or CCI certification in medical sonography or RDCS certification in cardiac sonography or RVT certification as a Vascular Technologist, and BLS for Healthcare Providers, and a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. In lieu of the bachelor's degree, the candidate can use either of the following to satisfy the educational requirement: -Option 1: 1 relevant Advanced Registry to include but not limited to, Pediatrics, MSK, Vascular, Abdomen, Breast, Peds Cardiac, Fetal Echo, or OBGYN.
-Option 2: 6 years of relevant work experience (The advanced registry is in addition to the entry-level registry and cannot be used to satisfy entry-level and advanced registry requirements. For example, a vascular technologist cannot count RVT as entry-level and advanced. If RVT is used as entry-level, an additional ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI registry is needed to satisfy the advanced registry requirement.)
