St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students each year. Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre-professional programs; and master's and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health. The School of Arts and Sciences is the largest of the Schools at Fisher, offering degrees in over 20 undergraduate disciplines. The School is home to over 1,000 undergraduate students majoring in the humanities, natural sciences and mathematics, social sciences, and interdisciplinary studies. In addition, the School is primarily responsible for the
Core Curriculum, the program of liberal arts courses that all undergraduates take as central to their academic experience. In addition to attending graduate school in any number of disciplines, graduates of the School of Arts and Sciences pursue careers in such fields as marketing, medicine, law, broadcasting, sales, human resource management, advertising and public relations, social work, media relations, information analysis, and scientific research and analysis.

Job Responsibilities |
The successful candidate will:
* Teach in-person undergraduate courses in their area of specialization.
* Contribute to major requirements such as research methods, statistics, and introductory psychology courses.
* Teach courses that align with the university's general education curriculum.
* Engage students in research and provide mentorship that fosters academic and professional growth.
* Create an inclusive learning environment that reflects the university's commitment to diversity and equity.
* Collaborate within the department and across disciplines. |
Education / Experience |
We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in psychology (or a closely related field) by the start date, with expertise in applied areas of psychology. Preferred specializations include clinical, positive, educational, sport, forensic, community, cross-cultural, diversity-focused, or other applied disciplines. Candidates who are licensed helping professional practitioners or on the path to licensure are especially encouraged to apply. |
