Senior Project Manager Psychiatry Full Time 82905BR Job Summary Uses advanced operational concepts and objectives to resolve highly complex issues. Regularly works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Primarily deals with programs and proposals with broad impact across the function, research initiative, program and/or organization. Develops and oversees the implementation of new programs and processes. This position reports to the DPBS Chief of Staff but functionally will support the DPBS Vice Chair for Child Psychiatry and Vice-President Child Behavioral Health Services-UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals, and more broadly child and adolescent services across all missions in the UCSF Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The senior project manager will serve as a senior advisor to and project manager for the VC/VP and the child leadership team. The individual will be responsible for and/or involved with the implementation and execution of strategic initiatives and operational priorities spanning multiple campuses and programs. This includes, but is not limited to: Expansion of child and adolescent mental health services in San Francisco and the East Bay Child and adolescent telehealth development (California Child and Adolescent Mental Health Access Portal (Cal-MAP)) Schwab Dyslexia and Cognitive Diversity Center Child and adolescent behavioral health services at St. Mary's Medical Center Implementation of the DPBS strategic plan related to child and adolescent services, operations, structure, and employees Strategic partnerships and collaborations with internal and external entities, programs, agencies, etc. Initiatives and projects at and involving Benioff Children's Hospitals in Oakland and San Francsico Policy and process development related to the functioning and operations of child and adolescent services and programs in DPBS Coordination with the DPBS Vice Chair for Community Engagement, Outreach and Advocacy on issues and initiatives related to child and adolescent services and programs Collaboration with psychology and DEIB leadership in the department on issues specific to child and adolescent faculty, staff and trainees The senior project manager will be expected to represent the VC/VP internally and externally and will be a key member of the department's senior staff leadership team. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Independently manage and provide strategic, operational, and technical direction for departmental-level assigned projects Assist the VC/VP in the development of short and long-term goals, policies, and procedures Prepare PowerPoint presentations and other visual tools to provide regular feedback and progress updates Deliver analytical and administrative support for the VC/VP and provide backup administrative coverage if necessary Interaction and collaboration with child and adolescent faculty and staff, including involvement in policy and process decisions Tracking key issues, projects and initiatives and ensuring effective decision implementation for the VC/VP Agenda development and tracking for key child and adolescent program meetings The Senior Project Manager will exercise sound judgment in priority setting and possess advanced verbal and written communication skills. He/She/They will lead continuous process improvement efforts by analyzing internal tracking systems, records and processes to best utilize departmental resources and provide recommendations to leadership on ways to improve day-to-day operations. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $97,900 - $149,000 (Annual Rate). Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related area and minimum five year of experience or equivalent experience / training. Minimum of 4 years' experience in operations and/or project management. Thorough knowledge of organizational or initiative processes, protocols and procedures. Advanced knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques. Advanced analytical / problem-solving skills. Advanced project management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and influence, both verbally and in writing. Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Able to prioritize effectively according to department needs and ability to organize a large number of changing variables. Highly organized and thorough, with an ability to facilitate communication and scheduling among different levels of staff. Expert user of MS Office suite including project management applications, e.g., MS Project, PowerPoint, and Visio. Preferred Qualifications Prior academic and/or healthcare experience in a complex academic and clinical health care environment. Experience working with financial, HR, educational and/or administrative systems. Advanced knowledge of common organizational- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
