Library Assistants are the first point of contact most patrons have with the University Libraries system and take care of most of the day-to-day duties associated with library operations. * Assist student, faculty and community patrons with discovering and using t library materials. Successful applicants will have the opportunity for progressively independent work and increased responsibility. Benefits of this position include: learning l research skills that support college academic work; receiving guidance and mentoring from library staff; and developing professional skills such as interpersonal communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Applicants must be capable of working within a team environment. All student employees may be asked to work nights and/or weekends. All UL&LS student employees are employed on a term basis for the current/impending school year. Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Currently enrolled at UNM for a minimum of 6 credit hours during the normal school year. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Excellent customer service skills.
