JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Reporting to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations and working collaboratively with Behrend, Central Development and Alumni Relations, as well as other partners, the Director of Alumni Relations professional leads and coordinates events, communications, and other initiatives to build awareness and the pipeline to effectively secure their fundraising commitments. These efforts contribute to a successful and consistent fundraising track record for Behrend. The work done by the Director of Alumni Relations on the Behrend DAR team contributes to success in building partnerships and has proven essential to coordinating and supporting the team's fundraising success. The qualified candidate will:

  • Strategize, plan, and execute a series of annual events and programs, including a college-wide annual alumni weekend, that engage the diverse alumni base and other affinity groups
  • Periodic travel to oversee regional alumni events
  • Coordinate a robust annual giving strategy that includes direct mail, email communication, crowdfunding, and individual requests
  • Serve as a liaison and lead a variety of volunteer and affinity group programs
  • Develop and execute mass communications as well as individual targeted communication
  • Articulate Penn State's needs, ambitions, and values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion, through excellent informal and formal communications
  • Oversee department Intern

This position requires a bachelor's degree or higher plus six years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will also have:

  • Dedication to and understanding of the skills required to build relationships with diverse communities
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills

  • Commitment to professional development, learning, and being mentored

Operation of a motor vehicle as part of the position's duties and a valid driver's license are required. Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check, in addition to standard background checks, is also required.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$68,200.00 - $102,300.00
