The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an Staff Applications Engineer to join our dynamic team in Alpharetta, GA as part of the Air Solutions Team!

The role of the Staff Applications Engineer within the Product Support Engineering team shall focus on providing elevated engineering support for the proper application of LG Residential & Commercial air-cooled products, and O.A & DOAS products, in the US Market. This role will work in conjunction with other functional areas (Sales, Operations, and Marketing) across the US CAC team to deliver one message for LG's customers and help drive sales and market share growth

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Staff Application Engineer - Product Support Engineering team:



  • Mentor and assist Product Support Engineering team staff, as required, in the areas of supporting their daily activities and with providing guidance in their career development plans & goals.
  • Proactively lead and support initiatives, in an independent fashion, with the creation & maintenance of application presentations, documents and tools used by LG staff & customers.
  • Proactively identify missing or incomplete product data & information required to fully promote and support LG products, working independently on resolution and delivery of these items.
  • Provide elevated pre & post sales engineering support to LG staff and customers on proper application of LG Residential & Commercial air-cooled products, and OA / DOAS products.
  • Work with LG sales and Rep/Distributor sales on specific projects that present unique or challenging application designs that employ the use of LG products.
  • Work as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to review data provided by R&D in New Product Introductions (NPIs), develop technical content details, and review all related materials in the material development process prior to its release to Tech Writers, Marketing and Operation teams.
  • Conduct application training and seminars for LG staff & customers on new and existing LG products when necessary.
  • Work with LG sales team to identify opportunities to develop strategies and application knowledge that promote sales.
  • Provide support to other teams in creation and review of catalogs, brochures, submittals, guide specifications, engineering manuals, presentations, etc.
  • Support marketing events to promote LG products as a viable and preferred manufacturer in the marketplace.
  • Assist with tracking industry direction and developments in ASHRAE, AHRI, DOE, EPA and other standards, and develop strategies for application of products/systems accordingly.
  • Work with Platform Management to support product development requirements for existing & new products. Assist with business case creation of new product based on market needs and customer feedback.


Job Requirements:



  • Bachelor of Science in ME, EE or equivalent work experience
  • 7 years experience in HVAC design or applied commercial heating & air conditioning industry
  • Experience in the following would be a plus

    • technical product application support
    • successful history of interaction with factory R&D teams
    • NPI: product definition, product/feature prioritization, product details/operation, strategic application and positioning


  • Experience with VRF HVAC systems a plus
  • Travel when necessary

Recruiting Range
$90,000 - $130,000 USD
