From your PASSION to ours

The Production Supervisor assists the department manager to enhance the technical and financial performance of the cheese production department. The Production Supervisor will lead their team to meet the required production in terms of quantity, cost, deadlines and quality to ensure a secure manufacturing environment. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Weekends are required.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Analyze and evaluate the daily operations to analyze the positive or negative effects on the department.
  • Performs monthly inventories, reconciles, and audit reports. Also, will need to perform the function in audits.
  • Will need to communicate and cooperate with other department managers on various plant matters.
  • Will recruits, hires, and develops staff. In addition, will identify strengths and/or weaknesses of employees and demonstrates the ability to train and coach in order to strengthen weaknesses and utilize strengths.
  • Will maintain employee files and employee documents.
  • Will always maintain an open line of communication with all employees, maintenance, and managers.
  • The Manager will meet regularly with shift supervisors and maintenance to stay informed about all issues arising in the department.
Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education

* Associates or higher degree preferred.

Experience

* 2+ years Supervisory or lead person experience required

* Experience in Food Manufacturing preferred.

Specialized Knowledge

* Microsoft Proficient; Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point

* Basic math skills

* Knowledge of ISO and certifications within the food industry (FSSC, ISO9001).

* OSHA, Food Safety, FDA, and USDA.

Skills / Abilities

* Effective written and verbal communication skills.

* Business acumen including problem solving and analysis.

* Effective time management, planning, organizing and delegation.

. The ideal candidate will be proactive and dynamic, flexible and receptive to new ideas, pragmatic, analytical and attentive to detail. He or she will also be capable of working independently in adherence to regulations, of managing stress and remaining calm under pressure, and be able to demonstrate an inquiring mind and well-developed observational skills.
