The Business Systems and Functional Support team provides critical support to the mission by delivering comprehensive support for our business systems that includes Workday, Cashnet, and Contract Research System. The BSFS team supports our stakeholders in Finance, Bursar, Procurement, Accounting, Budget, Payroll, Human Resources and the Office of Research Administration. The Business Systems Security Administrator reports directly to the Director of Business Systems and Functional Support and is responsible for defining and establishing a sustainable and scalable approach to how we maintain and govern our Workday system to ensure we have the framework and business controls in place to mitigate risk and preserve the integrity of the data, business processes and system. This role will be key in implementing position-based security at Mines. This is a key member of the team and serves as a resource to the Finance Administration and Operations team. The BSFS team's mission is to be the catalyst for transformative solutions that optimize systems and elevate user experiences. This is a professional position that requires critical thinking and strong analytical skills. The Business Systems Security Administrator must be able to work independently, research and resolve issues, strategically analyze complex security configuration needs, consistently review processes and procedures, make recommendations for improvements, and develop and deliver training to campus partners. Knowledge and understanding of when to apply any specific security configuration is critical. The ideal candidate enjoys working with complex security requirements and collaborating with others to resolve unique challenges. This role serves as a critical link between the Finance Administration and Operations departments. Acting as a bridge for communication, collaboration, and implementation of policies, procedures, and initiatives. This role will be liaison with stakeholders and plays a pivotal role in ensuring that Colorado School of Mines strategies are effectively integrated into various business units, promoting a positive and cohesive work environment Mines provides dedicated professional development and training. Onboarding for this position includes training on systems, policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements for state and federal security audit requirements. This position is hybrid in Colorado. The successful candidate will maintain a campus presence at least weekly in Golden, Colorado. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
