HR Coordinator Opportunity at Bernhardt Furniture

As an HR Coordinator at Bernhardt Furniture, you will play a vital role in supporting our operations and fostering a positive work environment.

Primary Responsibilities

The HR Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Onboarding/Offboarding Processes: Managing new hire onboarding and employee exit procedures.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensuring employment practices align with regulatory requirements and overseeing reporting.
  • Employee Relations: Addressing employee concerns and fostering positive workplace relationships.
  • Benefits and Medical Administration: Administering employee benefits and overseeing medical reconciliation.
  • Safety, Welfare, and Wellness Programs: Supporting initiatives that promote employee safety and well-being.
  • Leave of Absence Management: Coordinating leave processes, documentation, and communication.
  • Daily HR Operations: Overseeing the day-to-day HR functions at the plant under the guidance of the HR Divisional Manager.



Additional Responsibilities

  • Assisting the HR Manager with policy implementation and workforce safety initiatives.
  • Filing and maintaining employee documents in an organized manner.
  • Supporting the development of a high-performing workforce and fostering an employee-focused culture emphasizing quality and continuous improvement.
  • Providing coverage for the HR team during PTO or sick leave.



Key Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should have the following qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of Human Resources experience.
  • High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and Kronos (preferred).


Industry Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with HR functions in the furniture or manufacturing industries (preferred).


Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
  • High attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to interact across all organizational levels.
  • Self-motivation and a team-oriented attitude.
