Georgia-Pacific is now hiring skilled Maintenance Technicians to join our Lumber facility in Rome, GA! This role emphasizes safety, advanced troubleshooting skills, and proficiency in maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment. As a Maintenance Technician, you will ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime through preventative and corrective maintenance. Your contributions will directly support the facility's production and quality objectives, making you an essential part of our team ------------------------- Salary: * Starting Pay: $26.53/hr. to $35.73/hr. (based on experience) * Opportunities for increased pay based on skills and contributions. ------------------------- Shift Details: * Candidates must be flexible and available to work any shift, including overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed. * 12-hour shifts with a rotation of 8 days on, 6 days off. * Shift Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Example Monthly Schedule Rotation: * Week 1: Work Wednesday to Wednesday (8 days) * Week 2: Off Thursday to Tuesday (6 days) * Week 3: Work Wednesday to Wednesday (8 days) * Week 4: Off Thursday to Tuesday (6 days) ------------------------- Physical Location: 380 Mays Bridge Rd, Rome, GA 30165 ------------------------- Our Team Our team creates value by safely assisting with the production of lumber for our valued customers. What You Will Do * Adhere to all safety and environmental policies and actively engage in safety initiatives. * Troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing equipment and processes to support operations. * Conduct preventative maintenance and proactive asset strategies to improve reliability and uptime. * Install and repair mechanical drives, gearboxes, chains, belts, and couplings. * Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic systems, hydraulic equipment, and control devices. * Perform pipefitting, welding, cutting, and installing piping throughout the facility. * Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to identify and prioritize tasks. * Research parts using equipment manuals and submit work orders in the CMMS. * Communicate work performed and equipment status through written and verbal updates. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * At least 2 years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience OR equivalent military experience. What Will Put You Ahead * Multicraft maintenance expertise, including: * Mechanical and electrical maintenance. * Precision alignment of motors, bearings, and couplings. * Knowledge of lubrication systems, hydraulic systems, and fluid handling. * Welding and fabrication skills. * Strong troubleshooting and preventative maintenance capabilities. * Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS).
